Lady Torpy sees Low-Grade RAF Homes Flattened for New Build
Wife of the Chief of the Air Staff, Lady Torpy went along to Brize Norton to witness the demolition of low-grade RAF quarters to make way for 800 new family homes. She said, "I am very pleased to see these flats, which are well past their sell-by date, being demolished".
Second Charge is Removed from Long Service Advance of Pay
In order to simplify administration of the Long Service Advance of Pay (LSAP) a policy change has come into force and there is no longer a requirement for the MOD to retain a second charge on a property purchased with the aid of the LSAP.
New High Spec Junior Ranks Living Accommodation Provided at Northwood
Phase One of the new junior ranks single living accommodation (SLA) at Northwood is ready. Each of the 148 ensuite bedrooms has the latest technology for television, internet and telephone. Occupants are also provided with a kitchen, utility room and communal area on each floor and sets a new standard for SLA.
Plans for Digital Switchover in Service Accommodation
The changeover from analogue to digital over the coming years means that DE Operations Housing will have a remit to ensure that a digital signal can be received within each SFA and SLA from the equipment for which DE and its partners are responsible.
