Dear Families Federation, I have just been invited to attend RAF Families Federation workshops on Childcare and Deployments. But quite frankly why should I bother? I attended a workshop last year and nothing has changed since then. What has the Federation actually done that has benefited those you say you represent? And what's the point of having a Federation? Sorry to be so negative but with a Defence Review coming up, is there really any point raising hopes if there is no money anyway?
The RAF FF is about to embark on a series of trail workshops for the children of RAF Serving personnel. It might be asked, Why? Our answer is that all family members provide support to the serving member(s)of the family and it is therefore important that they are catered for and looked after. We also have workshops on Childcare, Pay, the effect of Deployments, Future Housing Aspirations and how Employment and Training Opportunities could be improved for Family Members. The RAF Families Federation has the ear of senior RAF staff and ministers so help us shape future policy in a way you would choose. We can't do it without you
