How the Alexander Duckham Memorial Schools Trust (ADMST) supports the children of RAF personnel past and present with education and welfare needs by awarding grants.
How a grant can help?
The grants offered can be awarded to assist with school fees; equipment to help with studies such as laptops; to enable children to attend extracurricular activities such as sports and music lessons, school trips and exchanges to other countries. University funding is also available, the maximum award is currently set at £4,000 per annum.
The Trust may also offer welfare awards to help with the cost of providing food, clothing, school uniforms and items of furniture.
All grants are awarded, at the discretion of the Trustees, to eligible applicants. All grants are means tested and award is dependent upon financial need.
How has the Alexander Duckham Memorial Schools Trust supported RAF families in the past?
Children whose father recently passed away were awarded funding for 3 laptops for the children’s school work.
Children who would otherwise not be able to go on a school residential and exchange have received funding to cover the cost of the trip.
A child, taken in by their grandparents, is able to attend Kickboxing club.
How to apply for a grant?
Apply direct: Visit The Alexander Duckham Memorial Schools Trust website (rafbf.org) to complete the application form and submit it to [email protected]
Get a referral: you can also be referred to ADMST by the RAF Association, SSAFA and the RAF Benevolent Fund.
Often applying directly for help may both speed up your application and offer other avenues of funding that may not have been available to you otherwise.
