You can join Armed Forces Day celebrations this year on Saturday 25th June – a day for recognising and celebrating those who make up the Armed Forces community – Serving personnel, Service families, Veterans and Cadets. There are many ways for you to get involved.
When the Armed Forces Day celebrations begin
Celebrations begin this year on Monday 20 June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and famous landmarks around the country.
Reserves Day
Reserves Day takes place officially on Wednesday 22nd June will also provide an opportunity for you to recognise the Reserve Forces.
Reservists are currently supporting operations worldwide and the contribution they make to our Armed Forces often goes unrecognised. As such, the Reserves Day was created to highlight and recognise the valuable contribution Reservists make to our Armed Forces.
Attend an Armed Forces Day event near you
You can find out what events are taking place near to you through the Armed Forces Day website.
Set up an event yourself
It’s not too late to arrange your own celebrations too – a family event or setting something up in your street with your neighbours perhaps! There are lots of ideas and downloadable resources on the ‘Organise your own event‘ page on the AFD website.
Colouring-in sheets
Do you have any budding artists in your family or community who would like to show their support? Why not print off one of our colouring-in sheets and display it in your window? You could even post a photo of your masterpieces onto Facebook or Twitter and tag the Armed Forces Day accounts.
