Some of our key military charities are all celebrating Victory in Europe (VE) Day tomorrow (Friday 8 May) with various online events. So hang up your bunting, put the fizz on chill, bake that cake and line up your own ‘at home celebrations’ with some of these:

RAF Association line-up acts performing via Facebook

Join the RAF Association’s brilliant line-up of acts who will be performing via Facebook Live @RAFAssociation throughout Friday 8th May. Find out more on the RAF Association’s website.

  • 11 am: 2 minutes silence followed by live music with Tom Lopez
  • 1 pm: Live music with Sarah-Jane
  • 2 pm: Live music with Andy Smailes
  • 3 pm: Live music with Andy Wilsher

RAF Benevolent Fund

Visit the RAF Benevolent Fund’s VE Day page where there are some really thought provoking personal recollections of events that happened on 8 May 1945.

RAF Museum’s online festival and party pack

The National Museum of the Royal Navy, the National Army Museum and the Royal Air Force Museum are joining forces to host a free online festival, bringing to life the stories of those who helped deliver Victory in Europe.

St Clement Danes Church Service

St Clement Danes Church is holding a special online service on Friday 8th at 12.30 pm. Join in on their website and celebrate with them.

The Royal British Legion’s events

With members of the public unable to attend VE Day 75 events, The Royal British Legion is playing a central role in the delivery of a range of remote activity, including:

  • live VE Day 75 livestream at 11.15am
  • National moments of Remembrance and thanksgiving, including a Two Minute Silence
  • UK-wide singalong to Vera Lynn’s ‘We’ll Meet Again at 9pm
  • VE Day learning pack for children aged 7-14 years
  • An evening of memories and music in partnership with the BBC from 8pm on BBC One.

SSAFA VE Day 75 Closed-Door Concert with Katherine Jenkins

The event will mark the VE Day 75th anniversary on Bank Holiday, Friday 8 May. International Mezzo Soprano Katherine Jenkins, the biggest selling classical artist of the century, will perform on the Royal Albert Hall stage to an empty auditorium. The half-hour concert will be streamed to audiences around the world via YouTube at 6pm BST and is the first performance of the #RoyalAlbertHome series to come from the Hall itself. It follows on from Katherine’s successful at-home lockdown concerts which have amassed over 2 million streams to date.
