Forces Children Scotland branded asset.

Forces Children Scotland has issued a call to young people from serving and veteran families to co-develop a ground-breaking campaign to help civilian audiences better understand what it’s like to be a forces child today.

Young people, aged between 13-19 years old, from Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force families across Scotland have until Monday 23rd May 2022 to apply to join the campaign working group to take the creative process forward this summer.

The working group will come together for a week-long immersive creative residential in Edinburgh to share their lived experience, which will serve as the thematic foundation to co-develop a powerful campaign to help people understand the lives they lead.

Many young people from serving and veteran families have told Forces Children Scotland that they feel a seldom-heard group and that their lived experience and how this can affect the lives they lead are simply not on the radar of civilian audiences.

The charity has secured funding from the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and ABF: The Soldiers Charity to work in partnership with London-based creative agency, Effervescent, to amplify the voice of this seldom-heard group louder than ever before.

“Our campaign will provide not only an opportunity to creatively express lived experience but also to develop new skills, build confidence and forge new friendships through shared experience, belonging and a collective sense of purpose.”
