On Monday 3 September the station was delighted to receive a further year’s funding of the project from the Annington Trust. This celebration was joined up as part of a deployed families day organised by the Station’s RAF Community Support Team.

The Cinelink scheme enables RAF Coningsby to show films to station personnel within 6-10 weeks of their cinema release. The scheme has been running at Coningsby for a year and has been a great success.

Warrant Officer John Leonard said:

“Cinelink is a great asset that brings our people together. It’s one of the many small differences we are making that hopefully creates an overall better experience for our personnel, and crucially their families. We are very grateful to the RAF Benevolent Fund, who initially enabled us to get up and running, and to the Annington Trust who have now allowed us to continue the scheme for another year.”

Mr Graeme Spark – Acting Director of RAF Families Federation, and one of the trustees of the Annington Trust said:

“We are delighted to support this project because we recognise the unique challenges that serving personnel and their families face. Those challenges can be extenuated when personnel are deployed away; it’s our absolute pleasure to support this initiative.”

Cinelink is exclusively provided for an entitled audience of HM Forces, MOD civilians and their dependents in remote locations (UK and overseas) plus operational theatres.
