Recruit for Spouses Career Academy: areer mentoring for military spouses

Wednesday 10th June 2020

Recruit for Spouses recognises many military spouses have struggled to maintain or develop their career alongside being part of the Armed Forces community. Which is why, as well as providing real job opportunities they launched a Career Academy and mentoring programme.

Bespoke career mentoring for military spouses

During the pandemic, the Career Academy have teamed up with a top Global employer to create the first military spouse focused Mentoring Programme. The programme is developed specifically for spouses who have been impacted by COVID19 and who find themselves furloughed or out of work.

The bespoke mentoring programme offers one-to-one support and guidance as well as providing an insight into a large corporate organisation. It will provide spouses with an opportunity to ask for and be shown well-trodden career paths. These could include your dream job or a completely new and exciting role you didn’t even know existed.

Answer these questions;

  • Are you feeling lost and confused about where to go next with your career particularly in light of the COVID19 situation?
  • Do you need help focusing your energy on the right career path?
  • Feeling low in confidence and self-esteem?
  • Is accountability integral to you achieving your goals?

Then this Career Mentoring Programme could help you to develop, grow and take steps back to the workplace.

Access to career development resources

Alongside the Mentoring Programme, we have free to access resources that can help you develop your personal brand; our CV toolkit (designed specifically to help illustrate your current skills instead of highlighting any potential gaps in employment) and our coaching programme.

The coaching programme has been established since 2017 and aims to empower spouses to realise their own potential through 6 one-to-one sessions with an experienced coach. Focusing on a variety of different topics from improving self-confidence to overcoming barriers and achieving long term career goals, the coaching is tailored to individual need.

“I was so sceptical at first, whether or not I was actually suitable for the service, but it was absolutely the right thing to have done. It has put a light on at the end of the tunnel. I feel so much lighter. I’ve decided on a new career, I’ve realised my own ability, I’ve repaired my confidence and I’ve remembered my own self-worth.” – A Adams, Military Spouse
