Are you part of the RAF community and have experience (either yourself or a family member) of applying for further or higher education funding in Scotland? If yes, we need to hear your insights and experiences through a short online survey by close of play, Sunday 12 March.
Scottish Government Consultation
The Scottish Government are currently running a consultation as they review the residency criteria for access to financial support in further and higher education in Scotland. The RAF Families Federation plan to respond to this consultation to advocate for the RAF community.
We are interested in collecting evidence from Service personnel and families who have experience in applying for further and higher education courses in Scotland to present as part of this consultation process.
Added context
There are considerable differences in the funding arrangements for higher education found in different parts of the United Kingdom. This may mean that while a service family may be living in one of the home nations within the UK at the time of application for student finance, it does not necessarily mean they will automatically benefit from the student finance arrangements associated with that area.
The RAF Families Federation are aware that some Armed Forces families have previously encountered challenges in accessing further and / or higher education funding when they have relocated between the home nations.
Take the survey: RAFFF Further and Higher Education Funding
The RAFFF survey will close on Sunday 12 March 2023.
