Little Troopers, the military children’s charity, has released a brand-new story book and is giving away 100 copies in time for Armed Forces Day on Saturday 24 June.
‘I’m a Little Trooper’ is written by published children’s author, Donna David. Aimed at pre-school children, the short, illustrated storybook explores what it means to be a ‘Little Trooper’ by describing the shared experiences, feelings and emotions that thousands of military children encounter as they grow up in the Armed Forces community.
Louise Fetigan, founder of Little Troopers, comments:
“This is a really special book that will help young children feel proud to be ‘little troopers’. Our values as a charity are that we want all military children to feel recognised, included and celebrated and this book does this in a very simple way. Parents and caregivers can use the book to talk to children as young as two about some of the feelings they might have when they move home or a parent goes away etc, as well as explaining to them that we think they are amazing young people who deserve to be celebrated.”

The charity will be giving away 100 copies to families as part of a prize draw and will post them out in time for Armed Forces Day so that families can read the story as part of their celebrations. You can enter the prize draw here.
The book will then be made available in the charity’s online shop later in the year with proceeds going towards the important work that Little Troopers does supporting military children at home and in school.
The release of ‘I’m a Little Trooper’ is just one of many ways that families can use Little Troopers resources to celebrate Armed Forces Day and support military children of all ages. Visit www.littletroopers.net for ideas and inspiration.
