Elective Home Education Overseas Parental Guide web

Education is an important factor for families considering volunteering for an assignment overseas. It is strongly recommended that Service personnel and families research the overseas provision in their prospective assignment location. Your Serving partner can access this new policy through the internal Defence Connect portal within the DIN Library, 2021DIN01-134 – Elective Home Education Overseas.

The DIN is supported by a Parental Guide (see below) and these documents aim to provide comprehensive direction and guidance for all personnel who are either considering or delivering elective home education to their children overseas.

The Children’s Education Advisory Service (CEAS) is able to provide support and guidance on overseas education to families considering moving overseas.

Information on overseas schooling is also available on our website and if you need support or guidance on educational provision overseas, please get in touch through our online ‘Report an Issue’ form in the first instance.
