RAFTA Launches their National Performance Project for 2019
The RAF Theatrical Association are a charitable organisation of over 400 members from the armed forces community that seeks to improve and promote theatre in the Royal Air Force.
On 5-7 September 2019, RAFTA members from across the UK will come together to stage their production of ‘The Secret Garden’, at Peterborough’s Key Theatre.
The show’s director, Pat Russell, said:
“We are very excited to be returning to this wonderful theatre. Featuring both music and puppetry, this promises to be a magical interpretation of the children’s literary classic.”
RAFTA are keen to open up involvement in this project to as many new and existing members as possible from across the country.
The Chair of RAFTA, Sqn Ldr Gaz Stevens, said:
“In celebration of the RAF centenary, for the remainder of 2018, RAFTA are offering lifetime membership for the nominal sum of only £1. This is therefore the ideal time for anyone in the armed forces community with an interest in theatre, to join the society and benefit from what we have to offer.”
Open auditions are being held on 10 November 2018 at RAF Brize Norton and 17 November at RAF Wittering. There will be the choice of a morning and afternoon session on both days. Anyone interested in attending should contact [email protected] for further details.
