08 January 2015Families Breaks offered by The Royal British Legion

Back to list

Families Breaks are a free 7 day holiday at one of the Royal British Legion’s 4 break centres around the UK, or a free 7 day caravan park holiday at Park Dean, or Haven holiday parks, so applicants have approximately 30 locations to chose from.

In 2014 the Royal British Legion (RBL) broke all previous records and sent over 5,400 on the Families Breaks, and over 1,400 young people on their Adventure Break service.  They would like to thank all of those who have helped with completing the forms, promoting and supporting the services.

They have been receiving a fairly steady flow of applications for 2015 and began the year with approx. 500 applications. RBL is doing its best to contact applicants on a first-come, first-served basis, while prioritising those applicants that need wheelchair-accessible accommodation or who have indicated they’d like to go away at Easter (followed by those that have indicated the May half-term holiday).

Applicants for holidays in 2015 are advised to apply before 1st April 2015 for the best chance of receiving a holiday this year.  Applicants are likely to be contacted by one of the breaks co-ordinators 6-8 weeks after their application is received by their head office.  However if clients need an update before then, they can contact the team on 0808 802 8080.

To apply for a break applicants should contact the Royal British Legion on 0808 802 8080, or they can download and print the application form below, complete and return to the address at the bottom of the form.

If serving units (including reserve units) would like to go away together, this can be arranged at one of the Break Centres and can accommodate around 10-20 families at a time.  If you would like more details about breaks for groups of families, please email the RBL at familyholidays@britishlegion.org.uk

A lot of information is available on the RBL family holidays web-page. The web-page contains links providing details about locations, dates, special requirements, FAQs etc.
