RAF Deputy Chaplain-in-Chief visits RAF Families Federation

Thursday 4th May 2023

The RAF Families Federation was delighted to host a visit from Reverend (Gp Capt) Ruth Hake MBE KHC MA (Cantab) MA BA(Hons), RAF Deputy Chaplain-in-Chief, at their Head office in Wittering this week.

The visit provided an opportunity for us to hear first-hand from Reverend Hake the issues that RAF Padres come across at Unit level. These aligned with the issues that are being raised to us through our Community forums and website – and also underlined the need for us all to acknowledge the challenges currently being experienced by service personnel and families.

Ian Todd, from the Support and Outreach Team, commented:

This was a welcome opportunity to meet the Deputy Chaplain-in-Chief. It was an excellent meeting and one that identified a way forward in fostering greater levels of engagement with the RAF Chaplaincy service, through representation at future padres conferences.”

Maria Lyle, Director RAF Families Federation and Reverend Hake agreed that working together more closely moving forward be useful and help inform the broader picture of support for RAF personnel and their families.
