welcome to scotland

Friday 24th September 2021

If you are, there are two recent initiatives available to parents, carers and pupils available to you. One, a webinar offering an introduction to Skills Development Scotland (SDS) for parents and carers of S1 pupils. The other is a new pilot which provides a free mental health helpline for children and parents in the Armed Forces.

Introduction to SDS webinar – 29th September 2021

Want to know more about SDS career information, advice and guidance support for your young person throughout their time at school? Join careers advisers Lesley and Gordon to hear about SDS, the role of SDS careers advisers in schools and information to support career planning. The online session will also introduce the careers web service My World of Work, which has a dedicated area for parents and carers.

Parents and carers can register for the session through Eventbrite.

Listening Spaces will provide a free helpline service and weekly virtual discussion groups for the next three months to support children, young people and parents from armed forces family backgrounds to follow a four-questioned approach on mental health and wellbeing.
