SENIOR FINANCE OFFICER

Hours: Full Time 37 ½ hours

Salary: £31,894-£33,573

We are looking for a Senior Finance Officer to manage the ‘back office’ function, including a small transactional team, and maintain the integrity of the accounting systems and processes. The post holder will oversee the management, development and integrity of financial transaction processing and ensure strict adherence to financial policies, processes and procedures, including income, expenditure, payroll and treasury management. In addition to this, the Senior Finance Officer will also ensure that financial data is accurate to enable quality financial reports to be prepared through the correct treatment and allocation of financial transactions.

The ideal candidate will be a Qualified Accountant (ACA,ACCA,ACMA) with a minimum of 3 years PQE (although QBE will be considered) and they will have the experience of the preparation of statutory accounts for not for profit reporting entities. A working knowledge of FRS102 and the Charity SORP, detailed working knowledge of the mechanics of recording and recovering Gift Aid, Preparation of Government returns including the Charity Commission and HMRC are also essential elements. In addition to this they will also have the knowledge and experience of using accounting software such as SAGE/Exchequer and BACS system and  direct debit collection processes. Experience of managing of a small team is essential as is the training and development of that team.

REGISTERED MANAGER

The Association runs a unique group of hotels across England renowned for providing an exceptional customer experience. We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Manager to be the responsible person under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 at our ‘hotel’ in Weston-Super-Mare which is registered with CQC.

The Manager will maintain the CQC registration and ensure the highest possible standards are met and that our guests have a quality “holiday experience”. This is not a residential setting but a place where members of the RAF family come for a short break holiday.

The Manager will manage the day to day smooth running of Flowerdown House Wings Break Hotel, delivering exceptional management and customer service, creating a culture in which the team work closely together to maintain and uphold the RAF ethos of friendship and comradeship

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience of working in the care sector in a registered manager position (with the appropriate Level 5 or equivalent qualifications) and a willingness to develop hospitality experience.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, our Care Assistants at Flowerdown House in Weston Super Mare, provide support and assistance to guests, ensuring that the highest possible standards are met in terms of service delivery; paying particular attention to the policies and procedures set by the Royal Air Forces Association (in line with the Care Quality Commission regulation) which provide for a happy, safe, secure and beneficial respite break for guests.

Do you have a Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or an equivalent suitable qualification) or are you willing to work towards it?  Can you provide high quality support and non-clinical personal care service to those of the guests that need it?

AREA VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

We are looking for a volunteer coordinator, who is articulate, confident, a good people person and is able to motivate others, to help us recruit volunteers for a wide variety of exciting volunteering roles. The Association is split into four geographical areas and the coordinator will join an experienced team, taking responsibility for recruitment of volunteers in the Association’s Northern Area and responding to any volunteering enquiries.

Working for the Volunteer Manager and alongside the area team, the Area Volunteer Coordinator will provide networking, publicity, and administrative services for all regional volunteering activities. They will help us to build contacts with the local communities within their region and undertake recruitment events and talks from which we will recruit volunteers.

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in volunteering and an appreciation of the value of volunteers, be Office 2010 or higher proficient, have previous administrative experience and have experience of recruiting and/or managing volunteers (or be willing to learn). In addition, experience of organising interesting and interactive events or talks will be helpful.

CHEF (Part –Time)

Reporting to the Head Chef, our chef at Flowerdown House, prepare, cook and present meals and refreshments that provide a balanced and wholesome diet to meet the varying nutritional requirements and preferences of those who may visit our Hotel for a break.

Do you have an appropriate food safety qualification at level 2 and a  minimum of 1 years’ experience in the preparation, cooking and presentation of high quality meals in a setting catering for larger numbers of people e.g. restaurant, care home, school etc?. Have you knowledge of menu planning and nutritional requirements for older people and a good understanding of Health and Safety at Work requirements in a kitchen?
