CHEF

Salary: *£8.45 -£8.90 (*starting salary) pro rata

Location: Flowerdown House

Hours: 15 hours per week with additional overtime available. To include some weekend working.

The Royal Air Forces Association is a member-led charity that supports the RAF family. From an injured airman fighting to get back on his feet, to a child missing a parent working away from home, to a WWII veteran in need of companionship, the Association is there.

Reporting to the Head Chef, our chef at Flowerdown House, prepare, cook and present meals and refreshments that provide a balanced and wholesome diet to meet the varying nutritional requirements and preferences of those who may visit our Hotel for a break.

Do you have an appropriate food safety qualification at level 2 and a  minimum of 1 years’ experience in the preparation, cooking and presentation of high quality meals in a setting catering for larger numbers of people e.g. restaurant, care home, school etc?. Have you knowledge of menu planning and nutritional requirements for older people and a good understanding of Health and Safety at Work requirements in a kitchen?

CARE ASSISTANT – RAF ASSOCIATION, ROTHBURY HOUSE

Salary: *£8.45 – 8.90 ph. (*Starting Salary)

Hours: 28 hours per week

The Royal Air Forces Association is a member-led charity that supports the RAF family. From an injured airman fighting to get back on his feet, to a child missing a parent working away from home, to a WWII veteran in need of companionship, the Association is there.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, our Care Assistants at Rothbury House in Rothbury near Morpeth, provide support and assistance to guests, ensuring that the highest possible standards are met in terms of service delivery; paying particular attention to the policies and procedures set by the Royal Air Forces Association (in line with the Care Quality Commission regulation) which provide for a happy, safe, secure and beneficial respite break for guests.

Do you have a Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or an equivalent suitable qualification) or are you willing to work towards it?  Can you provide high quality support and non-clinical personal care service to those of the guests that need it?

We can offer you a friendly, supportive working environment, 7.2 weeks holidays pro rata per year, and the opportunity to be part of something special.

REGISTERED MANAGER

Salary: *£38,269 -£40,284 (*starting salary)

Hours: Full Time

Responsible to: Head of Care and Housing Services

The Royal Air Forces Association is a member-led charity that supports the RAF family. From an injured airman fighting to get back on his feet, to a child missing a parent working away from home, to a WWII veteran in need of companionship, the Association is there.

We are looking for a Registered Manager to be the responsible person under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 at our unique ‘hotel’ in Weston-Super-Mare which is registered with CQC. The Registered Manager will maintain the CQC registration and ensure the highest possible standards are met and that our guests have a quality ‘home from home’ break. This is not a residential setting but a place where members of the RAF family come for a happy, safe, secure and beneficial respite break.

The Manager will provide strong and clear leadership, creating a culture in which the team work closely together to maintain and uphold the RAF ethos of friendship and comradeship.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience of working in the care sector in a registered manager position (with the appropriate Level 5 or equivalent qualifications).

We are looking for a strong, professional candidate with proven leadership and management skills.
