Remember, silence can often be seen as satisfaction. Help us to help you influence change for your service and your future.

Are you a family leaving the RAF? We need your help...

The RAF FF is starting a new two-year project, with funding from the Forces in Mind Trust, and is looking for families who would like to work with us, to follow your experiences of transitioning from the RAF to a civilian life.

By looking at families' experiences of the transition process, we want to build our expertise and gather evidence of how the process works (or doesn't) to develop a toolkit for support and recommendations for improvement.

Have you or your partner recently left the RAF, or are thinking of leaving in the next 2 years? We need your views.

Please note this survey is designed to gain the view of the immediate family, and is aimed at RAF spouses/partners and should take around 5 minutes to complete.

Living-in personnel survey - SURVEY IS CLOSED, thank you to all who took part.

If you live in, either permanently or just during the week, here's your opportunity to have your say about a range of issues from accommodation to morale.

The evidence provided by those who complete this survey will go to HQ Air Community Support who have requested that we survey our ‘Living in’ personnel. One element of the 2016 Armed Forces Covenant report to government will be on the Single Living Accommodation which we wish to influence, if we have enough evidence to be taken seriously. Obviously, they will pay more attention if 5,000 people contribute rather than 150.

Who we need to hear from - those living in:

  • Mess accommodation
  • Junior ranks accommodation
  • Substitute single living accommodation (SSLA)

SFA home and contents insurance. THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. Thank you to all who took part.

We've noticed that many SFA occupants that we talk to do not seem to be aware that their home and contents insurance may not cover them for all eventualities. This is because occupants are licensees and not tenants. So, we thought we'd run a short survey to gauge the level of awareness.

2016 Quality of Life Survey. This survey is now closed, thank you to all who took part.

Thank you to the 1,455 of you who completed the survey either online or whilst visiting us at your Station's families day.

If you want to keep up to date on what happens to your feedback in this survey, and others, simply sign up to our free weekly eBULLETIN to find out when the survey is in report form and any news we can share.

2016 Future Accommodation Model survey: A partner's view - This survey is now closed, thank you to all who took part.

The MOD is considering a number of significant changes as to how accommodation will be offered to Service personnel in the future, to best reflect modern lifestyles. These proposals are still in development and we need your partner's views to help shape those decisions.

1,585 of partners and spouses completed this survey so a huge thank you for investing time to help influence future policy.

Serving personnel will receive their own from the IPSOS MORI poll directly from MOD:

Without you, we have no voice...

We are funded by the RAF but sit outside the Chain of Command as an independent organisation. We provide a voice for the issues and concerns you have about life in the RAF, and we have direct access to senior RAF and MOD staffs as well as DIO and Government Ministers.

We will always maintain your anonymity and respect your privacy.

Together with your feedback, we can help influence positive change.

Our surveys are complete for this year. Please take part in our surveys next year, if you sign up to our eBULLETIN, (click on the subscribe tab), you'll receive notification when they recommence.

Our Reports are proof that we use your evidence to influence change and available online in electronic format, or you can request a hard copy sent to you by contacting us on

We collect evidence in all sorts of ways

Voting pads

Our Evidence Team can come to you on your Station and run really short, snappy interactive workshops using voting pads. Allow an hour per workshop and learn more about how the Families Federation can help you too.

Online, in your own time

We have various short surveys available online where you simply click in and whiz down through the survey. Takes 5 minutes! We can't see who the results are from either; only the Station you are from so we can address potential key issues in regional locations.

Have an idea for a survey?

Contact the RAF FF team to share any ideas on what areas you think we should investigate more and we'll investigate further.
