Understanding Neurodivergence in the RAF

Your Voice Matters

The RAF Families Federation, on behalf of the RAF People and Families Team, are undertaking a confidential evaluation to better understand the experiences of neurodivergent serving  RAF personnel, including both Regular and Reserve personnel. The evaluation will gather views and experiences from individuals who identify as neurodivergent, whether through formal diagnosis, self-identification, ongoing exploration, or lived experience without a formal diagnosis. 

This evaluation is being conducted to ensure that the lived experiences and perspectives of neurodivergent personnel are heard and understood. While support exists across the RAF, there has not previously been a dedicated opportunity to capture the collective voice of neurodivergent serving personnel. This evaluation will provide valuable evidence to help shape future improvements and ensure support arrangements reflect the needs of those they are intended to serve. 

This evaluation provides an opportunity for neurodivergent personnel to share their experiences confidentially and anonymously. The evidence gathered will help build a clearer understanding of the experiences, challenges, strengths and support needs of neurodivergent personnel across the RAF.

The findings will contribute to informed decision-making and help shape future support and policy development. 

• Questionnaire opens on Monday 14th September 2026 and closes on the 12th October 2026 
• Responses are confidential and anonymous
• Complete the questionnaire in approximately 10 minutes
