Over recent years there has been an increasing awareness of the obstacles that may be faced by military spouses and partners who want to pursue their own career. Now however an exciting new initiative aims to offset some of these difficulties through shared workspaces on stations. The military coworking network is a network of shared workspaces located on military bases, for the use of spouses and partners of the personnel based there.
With the new Polytunnel constructed on Station in July, budding Allotmenteers were hosted by the Royal Horticultural Society at their prestigious Harlow Carr Gardens in Harrogate on 11 Sep. They gained hands on knowledge of propagating herbs and were treated to a tour of the vegetable garden – setting the bar high for our own polytunnel.
RAF spouse Claire tells us about her plans to set up a co-working hub at RAF Leeming. Having been inspired by the set up of the Leuchars co-working hub, and through extensive research for my own health business, I thought it would be a fantastic opportunity to set up a RAF Leeming co-working hub.
