Image reflecting a call for Women Serving in the Armed Forces

Wednesday 5th October 2022

Are you a woman Serving in the Armed Forces? We have a really short timeline to seek your views on the Defence Committee Call for Evidence – which the RAF Families Federation (RAFFF) provided written evidence for in 2019 and gave oral evidence as well. RAFFF Policy Manager, Vanessa Plumley needs your comments by Thursday 13 October.

In January 2021, we raised your concerns to the Defence Committee call for evidence on the Women in the Armed Forces Report, we specifically raised the need for more cultural change and to challenge the default of responsibility for childcare or flexible service sitting with female personnel.  In addition, we articulated the need for a much clearer understanding of why women are over-represented within the service complaints system, and why female military careers tend to be shorter than male careers.

  • Are these still issues?
  • Or have you seen improvement?
  • Is there anything additional you would like us to highlight?

We want to hear from you, please get in touch with [email protected] with your comments by Thursday 13 Oct 22.
